Welcome to the
9th annual Oakville Waterfront Tournament
Oakville will be using 5 arenas for the tournament. Oakville (Sport Court), Maplegrove and Kinoak (Concrete), Nelson Arena in Burlington (Spider Court) and Wayne Gretzky's (Brantford, brand new Active Court floor). Gretzky's will mostly cover off teams coming from Sarnia, Chatham, KW, London, Hamilton, Brantford, Michigan etc. But some teams will have a game or possibly two there. It's about 45 minutes door to door Oakville Arena to Gretzky's. It's a nice facility and the floor is awesome.

Important Note to Team Managers and Coaches Regarding Team Roster Registration
You may register your team at the arena where you play your first game. Originally we had requested that all teams come to Oakville Arena first, regardless of what arena they were playing their first game at. However, since we are using 5 different facilities in three different cities this would have been unmanageable for many teams.
Please make sure your approved CI Roster and our 2005 Waterfront Tournament Roster are completed, with jersey numbers. Of course this information can be faxed (905) 849-0805 or emailed (info@rollerhockey.net) to us ahead of time to speed up your registration process.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing all participants at the Waterfront.
The tournament will start 9 am on Friday, with 8u, 10u, 12u playing first at various arenas. The 14u and 16u will start as early as 3:30 pm, to allow players to finish exams that they may have on Friday. Adult games will be the later time slots.
The rules for our tournament can be downloaded from our web site. However, we have included some clarifications.
1. Coincidental Penalties off setting, teams will play 4 on 4.
2. Any elimination or playoff game will be 5 minute overtime first, then a 3 man shoot out.
3. Some discretion will be given to a player who in the opinion of the referee and or convenor who is viewing the game, is forced to drop his gloves to defend himself because of an obvious aggressor. However, this latitude will not allow the player to fight back.
4. There is not a mercy rule in effect, but if there is a 5 goal difference with 10 minutes or less remaining in the second half, the clock will run. Clock cannot stop again until a two goal difference is reached. If a 5 goal differential is reached again, same rule will apply.
5. Three stick infractions in a game and the player is ejected for that game only, unless any infraction is a major penalty. Stick infractions are high sticking, hooking, slashing, spearing, crosschecking or tripping
6. A player will be ejected for his or her 4th penalty in the game.
Good luck to all participants!!!

Tournament Overview
The Waterfront Tournament will take place in Oakville Ontario, which is known for it's beautiful Waterfront village atmosphere. Oakville has great shopping, dining, waterfront parks and entertainment to enjoy for the whole family. This is also the weekend of the famous Waterfront Festival that has activities through the day and concerts and fireworks on Friday and Saturday night. The Oakville Waterfront Festival has hosted many great acts over the years including: Jann Arden, Kim Mitchell, The Rankins, Blue Rodeo, Colin James, Michelle Wright, Jeff Healy, Moist and many others. Visit the Waterfront web site to learn more about the festival. www.oakvillefestival.com
The Roller Hockey at Waterfront is top notch as well, all inline programs in Ontario are represented in every age group. Outstanding teams from New York and Michigan are in Town as well to test the Canadian game before their Finals. With the Waterfront being one of the last Tournaments and one of the largest, many teams use this as the measuring stick leading up to their final events of the season.
When and Where?
The tournament will be held June 24-26. Oakville is located on Lake Ontario 30 minutes west of Toronto, 45 minutes from Buffalo and 3 hours from Michigan.
Who can play?
We have an age group for all from 6 & under to 30& over. Again this year, the challenger AA and competitive AAA divisions, play at your skill level. We would especially like to extend a welcome to our American cousins, come and enjoy a little northern hospitality.
Tournament Schedule and Results - To be posted prior to the tournament and updated during the weekend.
Hope to see you at Waterfront 2005, you won't want to miss this!
